It's funny to me, how quickly people sometimes accept change. We always hear of those who oppose it, but what about those who tend to accept it all too quickly, make excuses for it, or pretend they don't see it?
Positive changes are great! They keep you on your toes, they help you grow and develop in new ways. It keeps excitement in your life...something to look forward to. Like a new job, a new found love for hummus, moving to a new area, a new friend, finding out someone close to you is having a baby, having to "hunker" down and take the bus because you no longer have a reliable vehicle, finally having to rely on your friends for support because things at the moment are just too tough, opening up to let someone new in, or maybe an old friend even closer.
But what happens when you change things that should not change, or maybe things that should, but for the right reasons...
If you think about it, the things that make up who you are, are your core, your center. Those are the things that should not change. Who you are is what we love.
There will always be comprimises and sacrifices to make, not matter what. But at what cost? What is acceptable to give up? Friends? --Could you possibly delete people from your life, as if they didn't exist, just to make others happy? What if these friendships were some of the best you've ever had? Meant the most? Does this matter? Dreams--can someone else change these for you? If so, were they every really, your dreams?
